Arif Shaikh has been with Kaiser Permanente since 2020, and is currently serving as Senior Director, Medi-Cal Policy and Engagement. In this role, Arif has oversight over Medi-Cal policy/advocacy, as well as local engagement with Medi-Cal stakeholders across 32 counties. Arif previously served as Interim Executive Director, Medicaid Regulatory Programs & Implementation (CA/HI), and Interim Executive Director, California Medi-Cal and State Sponsored Programs, and a Director for the Medi-Cal Line of Business.
During his time at Kaiser Permanente, Arif has worked on various Medicaid work, including contract management, regulatory implementation, and operations. Prior to coming to Kaiser Permanente, Arif was in the Medicaid industry for many years, including serving as Compliance and Privacy Officer at Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP), and as Director of Public Policy and Government Affairs at CalOptima Health. Arif earned his Bachelor’s degree from UCLA, and his Master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration from Northwestern University.
