Nicole Mata is a Program Manager IV at The Permanente Medical Group, where she leads strategic initiatives focused on organizational effectiveness, people-related technology, and large-scale change execution. Her work sits at the intersection of strategy, people, and operations, helping senior leaders translate complex priorities into practical systems, tools, and experiences that support leaders in the flow of work.
At TPMG, she has helped drive major initiatives including the market-wide launch of AI coaching for TPMG’s people leaders, the rollout of a unified JFA+ framework, and the use of technology and governance models to improve leader access, alignment, and decision-making. Before joining TPMG, Nicole led transformation and human capital work at Optum and the Keck School of Medicine of USC, where she supported multi-department integration, organizational redesign, communication strategy, and development-focused people practices.
She is especially passionate about creating scalable, human-centered systems that support well-being, make support more equitable and accessible, and help employees thrive.
