Katherine K. Kim, PhD, MPH, MBA, is a consumer health informaticist with expertise in digital health, data equity, and community-engaged innovation models. Dr. Kim is Adjunct Full Professor at University of California Davis, School of Medicine, Department of Public Health Sciences, and Senior Scientist for Health at CITRIS (Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society) at UC Berkeley. She is the CEO and Founder of Health Tequity LLC, a platform for digital care coordination and data-driven, real-world impact.
She was previously Principal, Consumer Health Informatics at the MITRE Corporation, a non-profit operator of U.D. Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs) including the nation’s Health FFRDC for Health and Human Services (HHS) and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to improve the safety, stability, and well-being of our nation. In addition, Dr. Kim has industry experience managing healthcare services in hospitals and medical groups as well as developing and launching healthcare technology solutions.
Dr. Kim is a Fellow of the International Academy of Health Sciences Informatics and a Fellow of the American Medical Informatics Association. Her recent honors include the BEYA National IT Research Leadership Award, the Community Outcomes and Impact Award from the International Association for Research on Service-Learning and Community Engagement, and the Sarah Mazelis Paper of the Year Award from the Society for Public Health Education. She serves as a board member of the Archstone Foundation. She received her PhD at UC Davis, MPH and MBA at UC Berkeley, and BA at Harvard.
