Debra currently serves as the Senior Vice President and Area Manager for Kaiser Permanente in Southern Alameda County California. She has been a leader in healthcare for over 35 years serving in positions that have taken her from the beside to the boardroom. She has held a leadership role in every area of healthcare from Pediatrics to Geriatrics and Acute Care Services to Post Acute Care.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, she was introduced to health care at an early age, volunteering at various hospitals and nursing homes. During her high school and college years she obtained fellowships at major health systems including New York University Medical Center and Mount Sinai Medical Center.

Debra is a graduate of Hampton University, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Shortly after graduating, she was commissioned into the United States Navy Nurse Corps as a Reserve Officer. She holds a master’s in business management from Troy University and is a fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Community service is especially important to Debra. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Urban League, Peninsula Chamber of Commerce (Chair), ARC of the Peninsula, the American Red Cross, Peninsula Metropolitan YMCA (President) and the Coliseum Central Business Improvement District.

She was a member of the Virginia Peninsula Rotary Club (President Elect), the Old Dominion University Educational Foundation Development Committee, the Hampton Chapter of the Links Incorporated and Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society.

Debra has served as a member and chair of the American Hospital Association Metropolitan Governance Council, at the national level.

Shortly after arriving in California, she was appointed to the California Breast Cancer Research Program as a research advisor and the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the East Bay Economic Development Alliance and the Museum of the African Diaspora.

Debra is married to her college sweetheart Victor, and they are the proud parents of Maria Christine and Niles Alexander who are both active duty in the U.S. Navy.

She has a deep passion for service, philanthropy, leadership and strives to be a light in this world.
