Tatjana Kolevska, MD, is an associate executive director for The Permanente Medical Group (TPMG), where she brings more than 35 years of experience in patient care, health care leadership, strategy, operations, and public and government partnerships. Since joining TPMG in 2003, she has played a key role in advancing clinical excellence and multidisciplinary care across the organization.
In her executive role, Dr. Kolevska oversees a broad portfolio of medical and surgical subspecialties, including tertiary care services, pathology, perioperative medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, transplant services, and employee health and occupational medicine. Her leadership is grounded in a deep commitment to improving the patient experience and supporting high-performing clinical teams.
Dr. Kolevska also serves as medical director for the Kaiser Permanente National Cancer Excellence Program and the National Virtual Cancer Center — initiatives she helped launch to strengthen collaboration among subspecialty oncologists and hematologists across the Permanente Medical Groups. She has been a principal investigator with the Kaiser Permanente Northern California Oncology Clinical Trials Program for more than two decades. Her previous leadership roles include chair of oncology and hematology, and chair of physician education and continuing medical education, both with TPMG.
In recognition of her transformative work in cancer care, Dr. Kolevska received the Sidney Garfield Exceptional Contribution Award in 2021. Under her leadership, cancer care in Kaiser Permanente Northern California evolved into a multidisciplinary, expert-driven model that delivers personalized treatment to every patient.
A nationally recognized leader in cancer care research and policy, Dr. Kolevska has represented TPMG and Kaiser Permanente at major conferences and summits, including the White House Cancer Moonshot, Becker’s, Reuters, and the American Cancer Society.
Dr. Kolevska earned her medical degree from the University of Zagreb School of Medicine in Croatia, completed her residency in internal medicine at Roosevelt Hospital in New York City, and completed her fellowship in oncology and hematology at Columbia University.
Outside of work Dr. Kolevska loves spending time outdoors, the arts, and cooking, but most of all spending time with family and friends.
