Maureen Tedesco, MD, is a robotic surgeon and regional medical director of Subspecialty Care at Kaiser Permanente in Northern California. She is an assistant physician-in-chief at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara, overseeing Skyport Medical Offices and the Exceptional Care Experience. She is a clinical associate professor of surgery with the Kaiser Permanente Institute of Medical Education, an affiliated clinical associate professor in the Department of Surgery at Stanford University School of Medicine, and an adjunct clinical assistant professor of surgery at Boston University School of Medicine.
Shortly after joining The Permanente Medical Group in 2012, Dr. Tedesco launched the Northern California Robotic Surgery Program for General Surgery as the co-lead. This program has grown extensively over the last decade, allowing many Kaiser Permanente patients to enjoy faster recovery and less postoperative pain with a minimally invasive surgical approach in the elective, urgent, and emergent settings. Dr. Tedesco was recognized as a Silicon Valley 100 Women of Influence in 2024.
Dr. Tedesco earned her undergraduate degree in chemistry, as well as her medical degree, from Georgetown University. She completed her residency and fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery at Stanford University School of Medicine and the Palo Alto VA HCS.
